Fall in Fairfield, Connecticut doesn't last nearly long enough. The colors arrive, families get busy, the holidays suddenly feel close, and before you know it, the leaves are gone.

That's exactly why I created my 2026 Fall Mini Sessions in Fairfield, CT—a simple way for families to update their portraits without committing to a long photo session.

This year's Fall Mini Sessions will take place at the Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield, CT, one of my favorite local settings for family photography.

The natural landscape gives us beautiful seasonal color without needing an elaborate setup. More importantly, it gives families room to relax, move around, laugh, and actually look like themselves.

A Mini Session. Not Mini Quality.

A shorter session shouldn't mean lower-quality photography.

I approach these sessions with the same attention to lighting, posing, expression and detail that I bring to my full family portrait sessions.

I'll guide you rather than expecting you to arrive knowing exactly where to stand or what to do with your hands.

And once the session is finished, your selected photographs are professionally edited and finished individually.

The session is shorter.

The standards aren't.

Why Photograph Your Family in the Fall?

Connecticut gives us an incredible backdrop during the fall.

Warm leaves, softer light and natural earth tones create photographs that feel timeless rather than overly seasonal.

Fall portraits are also perfectly timed for holiday cards, framed photographs, gifts for grandparents and updated family portraits before the holiday season begins.

But there's another reason I love photographing families this time of year.

Families change quickly.

Children grow. People move. Life gets busy.

A family portrait gives you something that becomes more valuable as the years pass.

Why the Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield?

The Connecticut Audubon Society provides a beautiful natural setting right here in Fairfield.

Instead of photographing against an artificial fall backdrop, we're surrounded by the actual colors, textures and atmosphere of a Connecticut autumn.

It's also convenient for families throughout Fairfield, Southport, Westport, Easton, Greenwich, Trumbull, Norwalk and surrounding Fairfield County communities.

What Should We Wear for Fall Family Photos?

Keep it simple.

I generally recommend coordinated colors rather than everyone wearing exactly the same thing.

Warm neutrals, earth tones, creams, browns, muted greens, burgundy, rust and denim can all photograph beautifully against Connecticut's fall landscape.

Most importantly, wear clothing that feels like you.

Your family shouldn't look like you're wearing costumes for a photograph.

You should look like the best version of yourselves.

Are Fall Mini Sessions Good for Holiday Cards?

Absolutely.

Late October and early November sessions give families an opportunity to create professional portraits in time for holiday cards, seasonal prints and gifts.

You'll receive high-resolution digital photographs that can be used for your family's holiday cards as well as photographs you may want to frame and enjoy throughout the year.

What Happens if It Rains?

Connecticut weather doesn't always cooperate.

If weather conditions prevent us from photographing your scheduled session, an available rescheduling date will be offered.

I'd rather reschedule than force a family portrait session in conditions that aren't going to produce the photographs you deserve.

Can We Bring Grandparents?

Absolutely.

Some of my favorite photographs are multi-generational portraits.

If grandparents are part of your family's story, bring them.

Years from now, those may become some of the most meaningful photographs from the entire session.

How Long Is a Fall Mini Session?

Each Fall Mini Session is approximately 20 minutes.

That may sound short, but an experienced photographer can accomplish a great deal in that time.

We'll keep things moving, relaxed and organized so we're not wasting your session figuring out what to do next.

How Many Photographs Are Included?

Each 2026 Fairfield Fall Mini Session includes 12 professionally edited, high-resolution digital images.

Every selected photograph receives professional attention before final delivery.

Morning and afternoon appointments are available depending on the date, and sessions are limited.

Choosing a Fairfield Family Photographer

A beautiful location matters.

But the person behind the camera matters even more.

I've spent decades photographing people—from families and children to weddings, athletes, executives and major community events throughout Fairfield County.

That experience helps me recognize the small moments that can't be manufactured.

A glance.

A laugh.

The way your child reaches for your hand.

Those are often the photographs families end up loving most.

My goal isn't simply to give you pictures of what your family looked like in the fall of 2026.

It's to give you photographs that remind you what this chapter of your family's life felt like.
